The long-standing collaboration between uptownBasel, the international centre of excellence for Industry 4.0, and Primeo Energie has reached a further milestone with the signing of new contracts.
At a ceremony held at the Primeo Energie Kosmos in Münchenstein at the end of December 2024, the partners signed two significant agreements:
1. lease agreement for building 4, the transfer centre for waste heat
uptownBasel, Primeo Energie is making building 4 available on a long-term basis as the transfer centre for the waste heat from the innovation campus. The aim is to transport the waste heat generated from the site to the surrounding communities of Münchenstein, Arlesheim and Reinach. In the near future, the waste heat will be used to heat several thousand homes there, making an important contribution to the regional energy transition.
2nd site management contract
Primeo Energie is taking over the management and maintenance of the site network at uptownBasel. This includes the high and medium voltage systems that ensure a reliable energy supply to the entire 75,000 m2 site and the nine buildings.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of several representatives from both companies. For uptownBasel, these were Dr Thomas Staehelin, investor and Chairman of the Board of Directors of uptownBasel, Hans-Jörg Fankhauser, Dr Christoph Mettler and Baschi Dürr. Primeo Energie was represented by Cédric Christmann, CEO Primeo Energie, Michael Schneider, Martin Dietler, Elmar Gutmann, Dr Lukas Küng, Sascha Wyss, Michael Bosshard and André Hirschi.

· Increased autonomy through aggregation for self-consumption.
Combining industrial waste heat and renewable energy for private households.
A high-performance, bidirectional local area network with high reliability.
