Biogas is entered in the national register. It can be combined with all products or purchased on its own.
What is biogas?
Biogas is produced by fermenting renewable raw materials such as plants or organic waste. Bacteria decompose the organic matter and produce a gas mixture with a high methane content. During combustion, only as much CO2 is released as the plants had bound during their growth. This so-called biomethane is then processed to natural gas quality and added to the natural gas in a ratio of 5 to 30 per cent.

Zurich Cantonal Bank decided to award the contract not only because it offers good value for money but also because of the expertise of the contacts at Primeo Energie and the pleasant relations.

In fact, everyone has been able to switch gas suppliers since 2020. This was made possible by a groundbreaking decision by the Competition Commission in June 2020. Benefit from this change - and switch to the gas supplier of your choice with immediate effect.
Previously there was a market monopoly. From 2012, only companies with process gas and a capacity of over 150 Nm3/h were allowed to enter the free market.
Until now, the gas market has been a protected market. As a result of the Competition Commission's decision of June 2020, everyone is free to choose their gas supplier. When you switch, you can save money without risking the reliability of supply.
From a business perspective, switching to the free market makes sense when annual power consumption is around 100,000 kWh. This is because the additional metering costs that energy supply companies usually charge.
Simply choose the desired product and complete the order form. Important: For the switch, you will need to enter your meter number. You can find this either on your natural gas bill or directly on your natural gas meter. Please check the termination date in your current gas contract. We will also gladly clarify this for you with your authorisation.
Once you have signed the natural gas supply contract, we will terminate your previous natural gas supply contract. The grid services will still be provided by your grid operator as before. You don’t need to do anything else.
Depending on the measuring equipment in your property, your grid operator will install a new meter with remote reading. The grid operator will require a local power connection for this purpose. If no power connection is available, you would have to hire an electrician at your own expense. Metering charges, on the other hand, are invoiced with the grid costs on a monthly basis. However, your total costs will still be lower. Request a non-binding quote.
No, you're not. Your supply is guaranteed at all times. If the switch is not possible because of contractual or supply reasons, the gas from your current supplier remains guaranteed at the terms that are in effect. In other words: There's no risk if you change.
The switchover takes around three months. This is the time the local network operator needs for the new installation and the switching process. If you opt for our offer by 30 June, for example, you will already benefit from 1 September.
Depending on the metering equipment in your property, your grid operator will install a new meter with remote reading. To do this, they will need a power connection on site. If no power connection is available, you would have to commission an electrician to do this at your expense. The meter costs, on the other hand, are billed monthly with the grid costs. We would be happy to provide you with a non-binding quote that includes all costs.
You will now receive two bills: one from your grid operator for the grid costs and one from Primeo Energie for the energy costs. Grid and energy costs are thus clearly separated.
If you also opt for an Easygas offer with a term of 3 years in addition to your Primeo electricity contract, you will benefit from an attractive bundle bonus. This depends on the quantity you purchase:

- Purchase from 750 MWh > bonus CHF 1,000
- Purchase from 1,500 MWh > bonus CHF 1,500

Yes, in addition to bills, market information and much more, you can call up and analyse your hourly consumption. It is available to you free of charge in our customer portal and can be subscribed to monthly by e-mail. This allows further cost optimisation.
Yes, this is different from electricity. Gas market customers can return to the basic supply of the local energy supplier. To date, there has been no gas market law regulating this point.
