On Saturday 23 March 2024, the municipalities of Biel-Benken, Bottmingen, Oberwil, Therwil, Witterswil (sub-areas), Ettingen, Hofstetten (sub-areas), Rodersdorf (sub-areas), Flüh (sub-areas), Leymen FR (sub-areas) and Liebenswiller FR lost power from 18:42. The power supply was restored by means of direct switchovers, which meant that most customers were supplied with electricity again from 19:40 - except for customers in the municipalities of Hofstetten, Ettingen and Therwil, who had electricity again from 21:59. A total of 17'443 customers in our Swiss grid and 1'422 customers in our Alsace grid (FR) were affected. The fault was caused by a centralised protection tripping in the Therwil substation, which led to a power cut.
Primeo Energie apologises to the customers affected for the inconvenience and recommends that they check the clocks on their electrical appliances such as heaters, cookers, alarm clocks, etc. and reset them if necessary.
