Münchenstein, 26 August 2024: Due to a technical fault in our substation at the Primeo Energie headquarters in Münchenstein, the power grid was out for almost two hours after 17:08 in large parts of the Leimen and Birs valleys. The local fire brigade was called out due to the smoke development. The substation in Münchenstein is an important hub in the regional distribution grid and supplies large parts of the Basel region with electricity. The operations centre was in close contact with the cantonal command staff. Primeo Energie apologises to all customers and the downstream grids for the outage.
As Primeo Energie's head office was also affected, the website was temporarily unavailable and the press office could not be contacted. We thank you for your understanding.
