We are extending our successful energy-saving campaign. Environmentally conscious energy behaviour will be rewarded twice again this year: if you save at least 15 percent of your electricity consumption from 1 December 2024 to 31 March 2025, you will receive a credit of 5 centimes per kilowatt hour on the amount of energy saved. Saving electricity not only protects the environment, it also pays off. Previous participants have a reduced savings target of 7.5 per cent.
Registration process
Customers who meet the conditions for participation will be informed personally in November 2024. Registrations via the customer portal will be possible from 1 November 2024. The registration deadline is 30 November 2024.
If you do not yet have access to the Primeo Energie customer portal, you will be guided through the process. Please have a Prime Energie invoice ready for details such as your customer number. By accepting the terms and conditions, you are registered for the promotion and will receive a confirmation email.
You will receive an email with energy-saving tips at the beginning of each month. Your monthly consumption, the savings target and the current savings level can be found in the customer portal.
Requirements for participation
Customers in the customer group Basis and the qualified tariffs* who meet the following criteria can take part in the energy-saving campaign:
- A value from the previous year from 1 December 2023 to 31 March 2024 must be calculated using a smart meter. The monthly values for the reference period and the measurement period must be complete. The reference period for the respective system values and the measurement period must refer to the same customer and the same system. The minimum consumption must be more than 30 kWh per month.
- This excludes customers with an annual consumption of more than 50,000 kWh.
- Registration, information and processing are carried out exclusively via the Primeo Energy customer portal.
- If a customer has several delivery points, each delivery point, if registered, qualifies individually in accordance with the participation requirements.
- Savings of 15 to 50 per cent are taken into account for the bonus. The bonus is 5 cents per kilowatt hour saved (excluding VAT). For customers who participated in the energy-saving campaign in winter 2023/24, the savings range is 7.5 to 50 per cent.
- The comparison is made between the power drawn from the grid (meter readings) during the reference period and the measurement period. Participation requires that the consumption-related parameters, in particular the meter, operating size, business activity and own production, are comparable.
- Customers must be electricity customers for 30 days beyond the measurement period.
- In the event of unfair behaviour (e.g. manipulation), the customer will be excluded from the campaign.
- Customers without a smart meter, customers who change their customer group, customers who have recently moved in, moved house, moved out or whose property has been empty for a long time are not entitled to participate.
Primeo Energie reserves the right to interrupt, adjust or prematurely terminate the energy-saving campaign at any time without prior notice. This applies in particular to official orders such as restrictions or prohibitions on the use of electrical energy. There is no right of appeal.
By participating, you consent to the evaluation of your smart meter monthly values, the display of these values in the customer portal and the use of these values in anonymised form for study and market research purposes.

Questions – Answers
With this bonus and this campaign, Primeo Energie is seeking to appeal to customers who have so far done little in the way of saving energy. Last year's success and the monitoring carried out in the study by SwissEnergy showed that there is potential for savings. Last time, each participant saved an average of 6 per cent energy. And around a quarter of the participants even received a credit note.
No, but most (see requirements for participation).
Yes, you can participate. However, since Primeo NetzAktiv is a completely different tariff, we may have to calculate your consumption values manually at the end. The current consumption levels displayed in the customer portal do not apply to Primeo NetzAktiv, as this tariff has not yet been implemented in all systems (except for invoicing).
There may be various reasons for not qualifying, often to do with other tariffs or a lack of reference values. However, you can save individually. Please refer to our energy-saving tips.
Here is an example of how the credit works:
The basis is the consumption in the same period of the previous year. In this example, this is 2250 kilowatt hours (profile H4, 4500 kWh, prices 2025 Basel region).
The consumption in the measurement period (1 December 2024 to 31 March 2025) is 1687.5 kilowatt hours. This means 562.5 kilowatt hours were saved. The target of 15 per cent was therefore achieved or exceeded.
5 centimes are credited per kilowatt hour saved, which means a credit of CHF 28.13
is credited. In addition, you save a further CHF 183.60 in regular tariff costs (32.64 cents/kWh) on the 562.5 kilowatt hours. You will therefore be rewarded twice over - on the one hand through the credit, and on the other hand even more through the savings. This results in a total saving of CHF 211.73. The credit will be deducted from your next bill after the end of the promotion.

- You will receive a confirmation from us.
- You can track your savings progress in the customer portal during the campaign. You will also receive a monthly email with energy-saving tips.
- You will receive final information at the end of April.
- The credit will be paid out approximately from May 2025.
In fact, a saving of 15 per cent is quite a challenge. It is almost impossible to achieve without changing behaviour or replacing appliances.
Participants in the last energy-saving campaign have already made a significant effort. We take this into account by setting a reduced rate, i.e. a lower savings target of 7.5 per cent.
In case of official restrictions, the action will be cancelled.
Of course. As a partner of the EnAW (Energy Agency for the Economy), Primeo Energie advises small and medium-sized companies in particular on how they can sustainably and efficiently reduce their energy needs.
You can save energy individually outside of the energy-saving campaign (see Energy-saving tips).
It turned out that the energy-saving campaign can be better implemented by means of a minimum turnover. It is difficult to treat artefacts fairly that result from low consumption, such as vacancies, or very high percentage savings due to the lowest consumption.
With the help of the participants in the 2023/24 energy-saving campaign, SwissEnergy conducted an accompanying study, the results of which were published at the end of September. Among other things, it was shown that an average of 6 per cent energy was saved. Thank you for your participation in the campaign and the market survey.
